Kidney Disease Treatment Options
Healthy lifestyle management
People with CKD can delay progression to ESKD by living a healthy lifestyle. Managing chronic conditions, being physically active, and maintaining a healthy weight can be helpful in reducing the risk of CKD progression.
Transplant
A kidney transplant is surgery that replaces your kidney with a healthy, donated one. You can either go on the deceased donor waiting list, or have a living donor who is often a family member or friend.
Dialysis
Dialysis is the process of removing fluid and toxins from your body when your kidneys can no longer do so. It is a lifesaving treatment for patients with ESKD. There are two types of dialysis: peritoneal dialysis, and hemodialysis. Both options can be performed at home.
Medical management without dialysis
For people with ESKD who do not want a transplant or dialysis, we offer medical management without dialysis. The goal of medical management without dialysis is to help you live as comfortably as possible, for as long as possible.
