Why should you choose a midwife?
Midwives provide supportive care focusing on educating and empowering you to make healthy decisions for your body. We also encourage you to ask questions and be actively involved in the care you receive.
Our midwives offer a very personalized experience and will be by your side for your entire pregnancy journey through labor, delivery, and after you give birth.
All midwives at Intermountain Health have a master's or doctorate degree and have passed a national certification exam through the American Midwifery Certification Board. We also work closely with our OB/GYN team.

Personalized pregnancy and newborn care
If you’ve been researching birthing centers or home births, a midwife is a wonderful option to have a home-like birth experience with the comfort of hospital services should you need them.
Midwives provide comprehensive perinatal care starting before pregnancy through labor and delivery into the first phase of the postpartum period.
At Intermountain Health, our midwives deliver babies in a hospital or birth center and not at home. Our connected hospital system makes it possible for you to have more choices when it comes to your birth experience, and doctors are available to consult with our midwifery team 24 hours a day.
If your pregnancy is considered high-risk, we’ll collaborate with our OB-GYN team to determine the safest and healthiest way to manage your care.
